Day 7                                                  Swellendam

Leaving the Winelands behind you make your way to the heart of the Overberg – the picturesque farming town of Swellendam. Continue your journey to the Garden Route, known for its spectacular variety and quality of scenery, vibrant holiday towns as well as peace and quiet. Day 11 – 13                                      Kruger National Park

A morning flight will take you to Hoedspruit, one of the gateways to world famous Kruger National Park. Your lodge, Motswari, is set deep in the Timbavati private game reserve, a vast tract of 60,000 hectares of subtropical savanna situated on the unfenced western boundary of Kruger National Park. Day 6 & 7                                          Timbavati Game Reserve
Your safari continues with 2 more days of open vehicle game drives, night drives and bush walks. After a final early morning open vehicle game drive you bid farewell to the wildlife of Kruger on your transfer back to Nelspruit for your flight to Johannesburg. This morning a flight will take you from Johannesburg to Mozambique. Chobe, Savute, Okavango Delta (9 days/8 nights)

Overview:
Undoubtedly one of the continent’s premier game viewing and wilderness destinations, the Chobe National Park is world known for its river safaris and elephant concentrations. Savute is that much drier and wilder and has become word renowned for its super prides of lion that hunt mega-pray, including elephants. Witness a true geographical phenomenon as the Okavango River empties itself into the sands of the Kalahari Desert creating a 10,000 square kilometre inland delta of narrow waterways, lagoons and lakes, bordered by one of the most spectacular and beautiful game reserves in Africa.

On arrival spend two days at Chobe Game lodge, the only permanent game lodge situated within the famous Chobe National Park. Chobe Game Lodge is Botswana’s premier venue for guests looking for a perfect base from which to explore the National Park and the Chobe River. This five-star Lodge has full eco-grading by Botswana Tourism Board.

Days 3 & 4                                                    Savute
An air transfer brings you to Savute Safari lodge. Stretching from the Linyanti River all the way to Savute Marsh, the winding waterways of the Savute Channel have pumped life into the western section of Chobe National Park for many thousands of generations. Savute boasts the second-largest summer Zebra migration in Africa; its timing is determined by the rains, but usually occurs between November and December and again between February and April. The migration is always followed by large numbers of predators – the Zebra migration is a must for visitors.

Days 5 & 6                                                    Okavango Delta
This morning your air transfer will take you to Xugana Island Lodge, widely recognised as the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, which itself is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. Xugana Island Lodge is situated on a private concession and takes full advantage of this magnificent site. An expansive deck and al fresco dining area overlooks the vast, pristine body of water that makes up the permanent Okavango Delta.

Days 7 & 8                                                    Xakanaxa lagoon
Another air transfer will take you to Camp Moremi, situated on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon in an area well known for its spectacular game-viewing opportunities. Experienced guides will introduce you to a whole new world of wildlife; watch a Leopard stretched out lazily in the branches of a Mopane tree, herds of Elephant grazing under a canopy of green or a pride of Lions camouflaged in the long grass.

Overview:

Madikwe is an authentic and traditional, malaria free big game reserve, known for its spectacular game sightings, especially African wild dog. This Big 5 reserve is a prime safari destination with a choice of excellent accommodation venues. A stay at Madikwe is the ideal safari add on following a visit to Cape Town and Garden Route.

Days 1 – 3                                                     Madikwe
A 90 minute flight will take you from Johannesburg to Madikwe Game Reserve, where you will be met by your ranger for the next few days. An open Landrover game drive vehicle will then take you to the lodge, giving you a first opportunity to spot some animals.

Situated between two rolling hills, Madikwe Safari Lodge lies in the heart of the richly diverse and malaria-free 76 000-hectare Madikwe Game Reserve – one of South Africa’s biggest wildlife sanctuaries. It overlooks game-filled plains, with the majestic Marico River cutting a winding green swathe through the landscape.

Madikwe not only has the Big Five but also cheetah and wild dog. On your morning or afternoon game drives you can look forward to sightings of a variety of wildlife, including mountain reedbuck, oryx, sable, eland and zebra, and up to 350 species of birds. Day 1                                                  Windhoek
Arrive at the Windhoek International Airport where you will be met and transferred to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia.

The modern, upmarket guesthouse consists of 6 luxurious en-suite double rooms and a fully equipped boardroom. Guests can indulge in the contemporary flair and stylish surroundings of the Elegant Guesthouse. During your time here, your hosts will endeavor to make your stay as comfortable as possible and to provide you with personalised service and genuine hospitality.

Day 2                                                  Waterberg region

Enjoy breakfast after which you will be transferred to the car rental office in order to collect your rental vehicle.

Frans Indongo Lodge is situated in the heart of a 17.000 ha (170 km²) farm in the bush savannah, north-east of Otjiwarongo. The main complex is modelled on traditional Ovambo homesteads: palisades of tall pointed stakes embrace the lodge and convey a feeling of the warmth and security of home right in the middle of the African bush. The lush green garden is shaded by tall trees and sports an artificial brook. The gourmet kitchen whips up a variety of venison dishes served with farm-fresh vegetables and salads seasoned with aromatic ingredients from the herb garden.

Day 3 & 4                                          Etosha National Park

Continue to the eastern side of the Etosha National Park.

The Onguma Game Reserve borders onto Etosha National Park and is situated next to the von Lindequist gate which is the eastern entrance to the park. The Onguma reserve covers an area of 20 000ha and incorporates ecological substrata such as savannah, bushveld, omuramba and dry pan. Age-old and well-worn migration routes, once used by elephant and buffalo wander through Onguma’s three dry riverbeds. Onguma reserve boasts over thirty different animal species. Plains game roam freely and predators although not easy to spot are nevertheless common residents of the area. More than 300 bird species can be viewed at Onguma.

Day 5                                                  Etosha National Park

Spend another full day of game viewing inside the Etosha National Park.

Okaukuejo Camp is located 17 km from the southern entrance of the park, and famous for its flood-lit waterhole, where visitors can observe at close quarters a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting. Accommodation is provided to suit every need, in premier bush chalets overlooking the waterhole; bush chalets and double rooms; or family chalets. Other facilities include a restaurant, bar, shop, swimming pool, kiosk and camping facilities.

Day 6 & 7                                          Damaraland

Drive to the heart of Damaraland.

Between the Ugab and Huab Rivers in Southern Damaraland lies a vast and unspoiled wilderness. This area boasts magnificent desert scenery, fascinating geological formations, archaeological sites and a unique variety of desert fauna and flora. It’s also the Southernmost roaming ground for the rare black rhino and desert elephant. Mowani Mountain Camp is characterised by its thatched dome-shaped structures which echo the shape of the granite boulders amongst which they are built. Much care has been taken with the design of the public areas, creating the impression of a (very upmarket) African Village, with dome-like thatched structures that blend in with the imposing boulders which are scattered around the outcrops.

Day 8 & 9                                          Swakopmund

After breakfast, at leisure depart for the coastal town of Swakopmund. Swakopmund Guest House is situated in the town centre, a mere five-minute walk from the beach and main shopping area. The guesthouse has been completely revamped to offer 15 rooms and 1 family suite for guests wanting to indulge in a comfortable stay-over close to the ocean.

Optional activities that can be enjoyed in and around Swakopmund include quad biking, sand boarding, dolphin cruise, camel rides etc, or perhaps a visit to the museum, aquarium or the crystal gallery.

Day 10                                               Namib Desert

After a relaxed breakfast and the morning at leisure, drive to the Swakopmund airstrip, drop off your rental vehicle and commence on your light aircraft flight to the Sossusvlei environs. Transfer from the airstrip to the lodge, have a siesta and take part in a sundowner drive offered by the lodge.

The wide grassy valley in which the Desert Homestead Lodge is situated is sheltered by the Nubib, Tsaris and Naukluft Mountains with a view reaching the distant dunes of the Namib Desert in the west. In this exquisite position, the lodge offers simple but stylish accommodation in thatched chalets which were designed with the fragile beauty of this remarkable environment in mind. The Desert Homestead will ensure you an unrivalled respite from the desert extremes. Tranquil surroundings, Alfresco dining, delectably fresh farm cuisine, refreshing dips in the pool, The final remnants of each day see nature at her most profound.

Day 11                                               Namibrand Nature Reserve

Early morning departure towards the towering dunes of Sossusvlei. Here you will be able to view and climb some of the highest dunes in the world, some of which measures up to 325 m from its base.

After some quality time in the Sossusvlei area, you will be transferred to the NamibRand Nature Reserve. This is a scenic drive and it will be mainly on public roads with open LandRovers. Experience this drive with the expanse of the Namib Desert passing by you, as in time. Located on the very edge of a 250-meter high dune in the 185 000 hectare NamibRand Reserve, the Wolwedans Dune Camp sleeps 12 guests in a totally unspoilt setting. Guests stay in comfortable tents pitched on wooden platforms and there are furnished with standard beds, bedside tables and a suitcase rack.

Day 12 & 13                                     Namibrand Nature Reserve
Each morning, awake to enjoy coffee/tea on your private verandah, with an unequalled view of the beauty around you before a delicious breakfast in the early morning sunshine. Then board the LandRover and experience the unique NamibRand Nature Reserve landscape during a morning and afternoon excursion by Landrover through the dunes, endless grassy plains and along mystical mountain formations. You could encounter large and small desert animals, learn about their unique habits and explore the ancient hunting spots of the Bushmen.

Day 14
After breakfast you will be transferred down to the farmhouse to bid Wolwedans farewell and commence on your return light aircraft flight to the Windhoek Eros airport. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Windhoek International Airport in order to be there in time for your outbound flight

Overview:

A holiday to South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal is truly an enriching and varied experience. This region is especially popular for return visitors or for those who want a more traditionally African experience. An idyllic climate, traditional Zulu culture, dramatic mountains, a colourful history, world renowned game reserves, unspoilt beaches, the St Lucia wetlands and intimate and welcoming lodge accommodation are just some of the many highlights you can expect.

Day 1 & 2                                          Drakensberg Mountains
Following your arrival at Durban airport you can make your way to one of the most dramatic regions of the Drakensberg Mountains. Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is surrounded by crystal clear rivers, towering mountains and magnificent scenery, and offers stunning food, a legendary approach to décor and personal attention. The region offers trout fishing, horse riding, hiking, birding and swimming in the crystal clear mountain streams with rock pools and waterfalls.

Day 3 – 5                                           Battlefields
Head east into Zululand and to Fugitives’ Drift Lodge, situated on a hillside, in a small game reserve, with sweeping views over the battlefield of Isandlwana. Unique battlefield tours will recount the famous battles of the Anglo-Zulu war of 1879. The peaceful countryside here hides many astounding stories of tragedy, courage and valour, which will be brought to life for you by one of the local field guides on your visits to the battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift.


Day 6 – 8                                           Hluhluwe region
Continuing deeper into Zululand you come to Hluhluwe River lodge. The Hluhluwe region abounds with wildlife including the famous, ‘Big Five’ Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Reserve where the white rhino was all but rescued from extinction, as well as the St Lucia estuary. Idyllically situated overlooking the Hluhluwe River flood plain Hluhluwe River Lodge is the ideal base for visitors looking to explore the world-renowned game parks of northern Zululand. Guided walking trails, bird watching excursions and guided open-vehicle game drives to the neighbouring Hluhluwe-Umfolozi game reserve, are on offer.

Day 9 – 11                                        Mabibi beach
Your journey will now take you to the beaches of northern Kwa Zulu Natal. Set on the pristine shores of the Maputaland coast, Thonga Beach Lodge is the ideal place to discover one of the last unspoilt and undeveloped wilderness beaches left on the African continent. Secrets of the Cape (14 days/13 nights)

Overview:
Never straying much further than 2 hours drive from Cape Town this ‘off the beaten track’ holiday itinerary includes many of the numerous attractions of the Western Cape. It is ideally suited to return visitors, for those that dislike long drives and for those who like to get away from the crowds.

Day 1 – 4                                           Cape Town
Spend the first four nights in Cape Town, with some time to settle in and visit the world famous attractions Cape Town has to offer. Situated on the slopes of Table Mountain, Four Rosmead is within walking distance of the city and five minutes’ drive from the V&A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Gardens, Clifton and Camps Bay beach. Built in 1903, this Cape contemporary classic is an ideal venue for self-indulgence or a base to explore Cape Town.

Day 5 – 7                                           Wellington area
Leaving Cape Town behind you make your way to the Wellington region. Enjoy authentic Cape hospitality at Bartholomeus Klip, a working wheat farm and private game reserve home to plains game and the endangered geometric tortoise. Relaxation, nature walks, drives and cycles as well as a procession of delicious meals are the order of the day.

Day 8  & 9                                          Swellendam
Leaving Wellington behind you make your way to the heart of the Overberg – the picturesque farming town of Swellendam. Your base, Schoone Oordt, is a much photographed Victorian landmark that presides on over 5000m2 of lush grounds and incorporating eight magnificently crafted, luxurious suites and a private romantic hide away. Spend some time relaxing in this beautiful surrounds or explore this historic town.

Day 10 & 11                                     Hermanus
Continue towards the coast for the next two days. With its mild Mediterranean climate and safe, clean, sandy beaches, Hermanus is a very popular holiday destination all year round and remains essentially unspoiled in spite of all the sophisticated amenities it now has to offer. Sophisticated Harbour House Hotel enjoys the most prominent of positions in the heart of the Old Harbour area, flanked by the seaside and the bustling centre of this holiday town.

Day 12 & 13                                     Winelands
Travelling west you’ll get to the Winelands area, home to magnificent mountain scenery as well as some outstanding wine farms. However the region has a lot more to offer than just the wine farms and you could also spend time hiking and horse riding, trout fishing or enjoying a laid back picnic under the trees. Your accommodation, Avondrood Guest House, is centrally located and within walking distance of a great number of shops and restaurants.

Day 14:
After a final early morning game drive drop your hired car off at Cape Town airport and board a flight home.
